SFL clubs will meet at Hampden today to discuss divisive proposals drawn up by the SFA, SPL and SFL to restructure the game and parachute newco Rangers into the First Division.
“Rangers should be punished for the mistakes they made,’ he said. “Fans of other clubs have made their views clear and most seem to want them to start life again in the Third Division. Going to the bottom rung of the SFL would help Rangers clean up their past errors.
“There has been talk of trying to find a way where a Rangers newco will be in the First Division. But clubs must listen to what their fans want to happen to Rangers. If the game suffers financially, so be it.”

“It’s a new challenge,” he told Sky Sports News.
“Everyone is thinking that the fall-out I had with the manager had a big say but me and the manager spoke and we are friends again and I’d love to play under him again.
“He has had a tough year and you have to feel sorry for him. He is a great manager and is one of the lads really – he will be there and get the lads fired up for the challenge of whatever league they are in.”

The 24-year-old joins defenders Tim Clancy and James McPake in arriving at Easter Road.
Fenlon told the club’s official website: “Paul is a player who has been on our radar for a while now and we’re delighted to be able to add him to the squad for the new season.
“He will offer us something different – he is a midfielder who likes to get forward and is always looking to spark a game into life.
“He can play in a number of positions both in midfield and in the forward areas and can finish well when he gets the chance.
“Paul has also got a fantastic attitude and never hides in a game; he is always looking to get on the ball. Plus he has the drive and ambition to help us to move forward as a team.
“We’re pleased with the progress we’re making on the transfer front but we’re hopeful we can add some more new faces in the near future.”
Cairney, said: “It’s absolutely amazing to sign for Hibernian – it’s definitely the highlight of my career so far.

In a statement on the club’s official website, boss John McGlynn said: “I’d like to welcome Edgaras to the club and extend him the warmest of wishes.
“Obviously I’ve worked with him in the past and I know what a talented individual he was on the field. I’m certain that, having spent a year coaching in Russia, he will prove to be just as exceptional off the field too and he’ll slot in perfectly to the coaching set up here.

A club statement read: “The club has been advised by Derek Weir that he will be stepping down from the role of vice-chairman.
“Over the past two years Derek has dedicated a significant amount of his personal time to working on club issues and representing the club on the SPL board.
“As a result of the number of extremely difficult and complex issues currently facing the game, Derek feels he is no longer able to make the time commitment required to properly fulfil the role at the club and that he needs to refocus on his other business and family matters.
“He has also advised the executive of the SPL that he will not be seeking re-election to the board at the AGM on July 16.
“Derek has agreed to remain a director of Motherwell FC and will continue to assist the chief executive and other board members in what is an extremely difficult period for the club.
“We would like to thank Derek for the significant contribution he has made to the club in his role as vice-chairman during the past two years.”

The Gers chief Green has held emergency talks with other top-flight chairmen not to vote on Wednesday in favour of dropping Rangers into Division One and offered a six-point plan for to remain in the SPL.
Back SPL voting reform and slash the Old Firm’s influence;
Agree a fairer split of revenue and cut payments to the Old Firm;
Accept the transfer embargo given by the SFA appeals body;
Pay all Gers’ football debts at home and abroad;
Take a points deduction for at least one, possibly more seasons;
Issue a public apology for Gers’ past wrongdoing.
They seemed destined for Division One until a backlash from angry SFL clubs who want them in Division Three.
But such a scenario would suck £16million out of the game, wreck key broadcast and commercial deals and put even more clubs in financial peril.
Green said: “What league will we be in? I couldn’t tell you.
“There are lots of meetings to be had. My team and my board will meet the SPL chairmen on Wednesday.
“The financial positions are very clear and without Rangers playing somewhere, it will affect Scottish football as a whole.”
